HTC One S shows up on T-Mobile's site, reveals its $599 price (update: $200 on-contract at Best Buy)

HTC One S shows up on T-Mobile's site, reveals its $599 price

We know T-Mo's got a special HTC One S event in the works for later today, but it seems like someone's a tad bit trigger happy and decided to out the handset ahead of time. Currently posing freely on the carrier's site, this "Gradient Blue" flavor of the One S is showing a hefty $599 retail price, though surely will be lower with a subsidized deal in place. Aside from revealing how much damage it'll do if you take the no-contract route, T-Mobile's page is also listing the full set of features and specs packed within the One Series member. All the details should be officially unveiled soon, but until then you can head over to the source below, where you can add your name to the "Notify me" list if you plan on snatching one of these Sense 4-packing beasts.

Update: Well, that didn't take long. The phone has now also turned up on Best Buy's website, where it's listed with a slightly lower $550 off-contract price or the usual $200 on a two-year term. Orders are expected to ship after April 25th.

[Thanks, Will]

Soap Dish: Days of Lives Mass Firings

It is Soap Dish time again my friends and this week I am dishing on the recent firings at Days of Our Lives. Oh yes there is going to be a mass exodus this summer and not by the actor/actresses choice. This week the new head writers at DOOL came in and well started to clean house. The story broke earlier in the week with many of the fans and the actors themselves taking to Twitter to talk about what I am calling a bloodbath. Christie Clark?(Carrie),?Patrick Muldoon?(Austin),?Matthew Ashford?(Jack) and?Sarah Joy Brown (Madison) were all given their walking papers. Let me start first with Mathew, this is like what the tenth time the show has done this to him. His talented was so wasted this time and I certainly hope that next time he thinks twice before accepting an offer to return. On that same note if I were Melissa Reeves I would be watching my back because I think it is only a matter of time before she is given the pink slip. As for Christie and Patrick although I love their characters I don?t feel they were given a stellar storyline either. It was kind of a been [...]

Six Stepping Stones to Self Improvement - Busygoat ...

I don?t think it is a coincidence that most ?successes? are depicted as a series of steps. The rungs on the ladder to success, the steps to the top of an organizational chart, even the steps where athletes are presented awards, with the top step reserved for the gold.

We move from one success in life to the next, and making our way through these steps is a sure way to ?reach the top?.? Motivational speakers, psychologists and philosophers all agree that we need to proceed through these steps before we can live a fulfilled life.

?

One. Develop a positive self image.

You cannot expect anyone to love, respect and help you if you do not love, respect and help yourself. Self image is important, and it doesn?t take money, only time and effort to present the best ?you? to the rest of the world.

?

Two. Develop good relationships with others.

Anyone who is anti-social, fault finding and vindictive will never nurture the relationships with other human beings that are so critical to our own success.? Look for the good in others and work with that good to find common goals.

Three. Set clear, concrete, conceivable goals.

You can?t get to where you are going if you don?t know where you want to go.? Goals exist on all levels, and may change depending on where you are in life. Once you have set the goal to enter a certain college, for example, you will set goals to make the best grades you can in each course. Once you set the goal of getting a certain job, you will set the goal of being the best? fill in the blank in the company.

?

Four. Develop a positive attitude.

We all get discouraged from time to time. The people who succeed are the ones who can overcome discouragement and disappointment and move on. For each disappointing event think: ?This, too, will pass?, and so it is important to realize that each setback is only that, a setback.

?

Five. Work honestly, loyally and steadfastly.

Do work that is worthy of recognition, but do not expect recognition. Give the world, and yourself, the best you have to offer. Do everything you engage in to the best of your ability.

?

Six. Truly desire to achieve your goal of self improvement and success.
Sometimes improving yourself means learning about yourself and your criminal record. Click this link to find simple background check information that can help you learn about your record. If you are doing it because it suits someone else?s view of how your life should be run, it will not come about. You need to have made the decision that you want to be the best that you can be.

You Can Learn To Speak French | Professional Article Marketing

?

If you are interested in French culture, you will want to learn to speak French. Although you can find gadgets and online services that will translate French into your native language for you, there?s no substitute for being able to conduct an actual conversation in the language.

You may be motivated to learn French because you have a new boyfriend or girlfriend from France, and you want to make an effort to communicate better. Schools often require students to learn a new language as a condition for graduation, and French is an ideal choice if you need to fulfill such a requirement. Another popular reason to learn the language is that you are planning to take a vacation in France, or your company requires you to take a business trip there. Learning French will also help you exercise your brain, as you build up your vocabulary and grammar skills.

If you have a new friend or significant other who is a native French speaker, imagine how delighted he or she will be to discover that you are making an effort to speak in French, instead of requiring all conversations and text messages to be in English. Learning to speak someone else?s language is an excellent method of solidifying the relationship. He or she may also be encouraged to attain better English skills.

You will miss so much if you take a vacation or a business trip to France without learning to speak their language. Imagine having to type in every phrase you want to say into a translation device, or thumbing through a French phrase book when you want to order a meal or get directions to a landmark in Paris. Take some time to at least learn some basic French phrases so you can get around more smoothly.

Your appreciation of French culture will be enhanced if you manage to learn the language. Instead of reading translations of poetry, plays or novels, you can experience these texts exactly as their authors intended. Translations will never give you the subtle nuances, meaning and wordplay that you will find in the original material.

You can learn to speak French in a variety of ways. If you prefer a structured method, it might be best for you to enroll in a French language class that meets regularly, such as for one hour every day, or a few hours several times per week. Your French instructor will give you assignments and have you practice conversations with your fellow classmates. The school will probably also have a language laboratory, where you can listen to recordings of native French speakers and then repeat what they say to help you improve your accent. You can also find French language learning software to play on your computer or an app for your cell phone. Some people prefer to study independently, using recordings that they can listen to while they commute, along with books and study guides that they follow at their own pace. Another option is to hire a private tutor, who can give you focused attention and help you practice your conversational skills.

Although it may take you a few weeks before you get the hang of speaking basic French, you will continue to improve as long as you put in some effort on a regular basis, practicing your reading, writing and conversational skills.

Timing pregnancy an important health concern for women | Women ...

ScienceDaily (Apr. 11, 2012) ? A newly published article in the journal Nursing for Women?s Health highlights the importance of a woman?s ability to time her childbearing. The author asserts that contraception is a means of health promotion and women who work with their health care providers to ensure they are healthy prior to conceiving can minimize their risk of complications during pregnancy and childbirth.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) there were more than four million births in the U.S. in 2009. A study by Kuklina et al. (2009) shows an increase in severe obstetric complications from 1998-1999 to 2004-2005, with renal failure increasing by 21%, pulmonary embolism by 52% and the need for blood transfusion by 92%. Moreover, maternal mortality has risen sharply in the past 20 years with a low of 6.6 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births in 1987, rising to 12.7 in 2007.

?There is a new urgency to ensuring that women have access to affordable contraceptive services given the rising rates of maternal morbidity and mortality in the U.S,? explains Catherine Ruhl, CNM, MS, Director of Women?s Health Programs at the Association of Women?s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) in Washington, DC. ?If women are able to choose when, and if, to become pregnant, they can protect themselves and their baby from pregnancy-related complications by ensuring they enter pregnancy in good health.?

Ruhl points out that contraception counseling and birth control methods should be considered prevention, which in turn promotes good health. In the U.S. health conditions such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension have increased in women, increasing the risk of pregnancy complications. Federal data sources report that slightly less than half of women who gave birth in 2007 had a healthy pre-pregnancy weight.

A certified nurse-midwife, Ruhl suggests that women discuss their reproductive goals and contraception options with their health care providers. ?Women deserve to have a full understanding of the benefits of being in the best health possible prior to pregnancy, and have providers who will partner with them to achieve their goals,? she concludes.
